CARDAMOM
Cardamom
is inhabitant of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Pakistan. This
spice/herb is commonly used in Indian, Central Asian and Middle
Eastern cuisine. It has also been used into Ayurvedic medicine as a
treatment for mouth ulcers, digestive problems, and even depression. Some of
the health benefits of this peppery, citrusy spice are now making their
way into modern studies. It’s well worth adding cardamom to your food for the
flavor alone, but these health benefits are also something to consider when you
break out the spices.

Ela: Ela means
it acts as a breath freshener and relieves bad breath (halitosis)
Sukshma: Green cardamom
is smaller in size which is why it’s called sukshma. Sukshma means
minute.
Triputa: This word
means, it has three seed pods.
Chandrabala: In other words,
it has a pleasant smell like camphor.
Tutha: This word
refers to how it is small in
size and pacifies Kapha dosha.
Korangi: It pacifies Vata dosha.

Cardamom is
associated to ginger and can be used in much the same way to counteract
